Wine Tours in New York

A wine tour in New York can include several tasting reservations, a lunch stop, and a full afternoon of driving between estates. Driven Limo keeps the group under one chauffeured reservation, with the route planned around the wineries and reservation times you provide.

Whether you’re planning a day on Long Island or in the Hudson Valley, send us your passenger count, pickup address, wineries you want to visit, and any confirmed tasting times. We’ll match the reservation with an appropriate vehicle and plan the chauffeured service between stops.

While You Sip, We Sort Out the Rest

Choose the wineries you want to visit and book any required tastings directly with the estates. Send us the confirmed times, and we’ll plan the chauffeured service around them. We also tell you which vehicle is coming, so you can mention it as you reserve and arrive at a table that expects you. If you have not booked anything yet, start with your headcount, because group limits vary from estate to estate, and that number tells you which tasting rooms make sense.

Very few people head home empty-handed. When you walk out with a case of your favorite red of the day, it goes straight into the vehicle, and the next estate is only a few minutes down the road.

Tastings go down better with a proper meal in between. Tell us whether you would like a sit-down lunch, a picnic from a farm stand, or a plate of local oysters by the harbor in Greenport, and on our wine tasting tour in New York, we fit it between the estates you chose.

Groups often underestimate the time they spend at the first tasting, especially once lunch or bottle purchases are added. For that reason, we normally leave breathing room between reservations rather than planning the day around the shortest possible drive time.

Wine Tours Across Long Island and the Hudson Valley

Vineyard country around the city stretches from the Hudson Valley to the two forks of Long Island, which hold close to 90 wineries combined. When you book our New York winery tour, you can mix stops from any of these areas, and here are four we suggest for different occasions:

  • Clients who know their Merlot tend to appreciate Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, which pours in a 1919 potato barn. It fills up on summer and fall weekends, so for a business visit we suggest a weekday, when the staff has more time to talk you through each glass. For groups of 15 or fewer, no reservation is required.
  • For a group trying Long Island’s vineyards for the first time, it makes sense to begin where the story began. Alex and Louisa Hargrave planted the region’s earliest vines in 1973 on the land Borghese Vineyard farms today, proving that Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir could thrive on the island. Borghese also sits in Cutchogue, a short hop from Bedell, so we can pair them in one unhurried morning, but keep in mind they don’t accept groups of more than 6 people.
  • An anniversary deserves a sunset, and Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, on the South Fork, gives you a good one. Its tasting room welcomes groups of eight or fewer and opens bookings two weeks ahead, so reserve early, finish with a glass at the walk-in stand on Montauk Highway on a Friday or Saturday evening, and find us waiting when the sun goes down.
  • When your parents or in-laws want history and a shorter drive, Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville sits about an hour north of the city. No reservation is needed, making it an easy afternoon outing or the perfect opening stop on a longer Hudson Valley run.

Your options do not end at the state line. We also drive to wineries across New Jersey and to the tasting rooms along the Connecticut Wine Trail, so a neighboring state is as easy to add as any stop on this list.

Which Vehicle Pairs Best with Your Party?

Celebrations among the vineyards range in size, from a two-person proposal to a whole team taking the afternoon off, and our fleet fits each one.

  • A proposal among the vines calls for a calm ride afterward, so we send our Mercedes S 580, where the long-wheelbase rear cabin leaves plenty of legroom while you phone family with the news in private.
  • Parents, siblings, and spouses all fit in our Cadillac Escalade for a parent’s 60th or a family reunion weekend, with tri-zone climate control so the back rows can cool off after an hour in the August sun. Our Chevrolet Suburban, another three-row SUV, works just as well.
  • We bring our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter when a bachelorette weekend or a team celebration outgrows an SUV, and with everyone boarding through one door, counting heads at each stop takes seconds.

For a couple who wants something simpler, we also send our Cadillac XTS: a roomy, low-key choice for a weekday visit.

Book a NY Winery Tour

To request a NY winery tour, send us your date, pickup address, passenger count, preferred wine region, wineries you want to visit, confirmed tasting times, meal stops, and final drop-off. If you expect to purchase multiple bottles or cases, include that too so we can account for storage when recommending a vehicle.

These reviews come from all kinds of days with us, and the same attention goes into every outing among the vineyards: “Excellent service! The driver was professional, on time, and friendly. The SUV was spotless. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!” (Ginna)

Whenever a free weekend opens up, call us at (800) 220-5557, email info@drivenlimo.com, or request a quote online, and we will send a suggested itinerary for you to review.
