Every July, baseball fans head to Cooperstown for the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. The village sits about 200 miles north of New York City with no direct train service, and for a group of fans heading upstate for the ceremony, we drive the four hours with the overnight bags behind the third row.

The New York State Legislature meets at the Capitol in Albany from January through June. For official visits while the Legislature is in session, we meet delegations of up to six at the Albany-Rensselaer train station, take them to the Capitol, and return them to their hotel each evening. With January snow outside and long days of meetings inside, the group carries winter coats, briefcases, and boxes of documents, with space for it all behind the seats.
